What is legitimacy?
Legitimacy can be defined as a government that come to power in accordance with constitution and accepted norm of the society.
Factors that determine legitimacy.
1. Good leadership :- a leader that fulfill the promise he/she made.
2. Good government :- if the government are truthful the people will continue to have confidence in them.
3. Legitimacy through periodic election :- free and fair election is the product of legitimacy.
4. Custom tradition :- respect for the tradition and custom can determine legitimacy.
5. The observance of rule of law and constitution as the fundamental principle of governance ensure legitimacy.
6. Charisma of the leader, this is based on honesty and truthfulness of the leaders.
